A bookmaker can put £50 in large type and leave the useful detail several clicks away. Matched bettors need the detail. A small qualifying stake is preferable to a large one. A free bet that works on ordinary singles is easier to convert than one restricted to accumulators or Bet Builders. Thirty days is kinder than seven.

This ranking uses current bookmaker-owned promotion pages captured on 12 September 2026. It is not exhaustive. Coral and Ladbrokes were left out because their complete live terms could not be retrieved reliably during the check. bet365 was omitted for the same reason. An unverified offer does not become suitable merely because another website copied its headline.

This guide includes promotional buttons for Outplayed, a training and tools service. Matched Betting Beast may earn commission if you join through them. The bookmaker source links are not affiliate links. Offers can be withdrawn, replaced or personalised. Check the current terms on the bookmaker's own website immediately before registration and again before placing the qualifying bet.

The ranking is about matched-betting usefulness, not general generosity. Betfred's £50 is the largest headline, but £20 is tied to Bet Builder. BetVictor's £30 is split entirely among specialised football bets. Sky Bet asks for a much smaller first stake and supplies three ordinary tokens for single or each-way markets.[1]

The ASA says promotions must present significant conditions clearly and prominently when leaving them out could mislead.[6] Minimum odds, deadlines, excluded payment methods and reward restrictions are not decorative footnotes. They decide whether you receive anything.

What a £30 free bet is really worth

A £30 stake-not-returned free bet is not £30 cash. The bookmaker does not return the promotional stake with the winnings. You convert the potential winnings by laying the same outcome at an exchange, assuming the promotion terms permit that pattern.

Matched Betting Beast's Ultimate Calculator gives £23.15 if the bookmaker selection loses and £23.16 if it wins. That is a strong conversion, but it requires almost £97 at the exchange. The headline reward is not the capital requirement and does not guarantee profit.

Splitting a reward can help when each token works on a normal single. Three £10 free bets can be converted separately with smaller liabilities. Restrictions to accumulators, Bet Builders or particular markets make hedging harder and can reduce practical value.

1. Sky Bet: deposit £5, bet 5p, get £30

Sky Bet's current help page says a new customer deposits at least £5 and places their first single or each-way bet for at least 5p at odds of 2.00 or greater. The reward is three £10 free-bet tokens.[1]

Only the first bet counts. Smaller bets cannot be accumulated to reach the minimum, although that scarcely matters when the threshold is five pence. Neteller and Skrill deposits do not qualify. The free bets work on single or each-way markets, excluding virtuals, and expire 30 days after crediting.[1]

Why it ranks first

The qualifying stake is tiny, the reward is split into manageable denominations and the 30-day window allows time to wait for close odds. The £5 deposit still needs to be made with an eligible method, and the account must meet Sky Bet's eligibility rules.

Do not fire off a casual first bet before checking the offer. The first bet determines qualification. Open the current promotion page, confirm that the welcome offer appears on your account, then choose a market at or above 2.00 that also has enough exchange liquidity.

2. Paddy Power: bet £5, get a £30 sports free bet

Paddy Power's current offer uses code YSKAST. New UK or Republic of Ireland customers deposit at least £5 through Pay by Bank, debit card or Apple Pay, then place a £5 sports bet at minimum odds of 2.00. The qualifying bet must settle before the published deadline of 1 December 2026.[2]

After settlement, Paddy Power awards a £30 sports free bet. It is valid for 30 days. Cashed-out, partially cashed-out, void, boosted and Super Boost bets do not qualify. E-wallet deposits through Skrill, Paysafe, PayPal and Neteller are excluded.[2]

Why it ranks second

A £5 qualifier, a £30 sports reward and a month to use it form a clean offer. The main practical difference from Sky Bet is denomination. Paddy Power's page describes one £30 sports free bet, while Sky Bet explicitly issues three £10 tokens. A single £30 free bet can require a larger exchange balance if used at higher odds.

Use the exact code and eligible deposit method. The promotional stake is not returned with winnings, so select SNR mode in the calculator. Check the current terms in case the code, deadline or reward structure changes.

3. Betfred: bet £10, get £50 split across two uses

Betfred asks a new verified UK or Gibraltar customer to make a first qualifying deposit of at least £10 within seven days. The deposit must come directly from a debit card, a debit card linked to Apple Pay, or TrueLayer instant bank transfer. The first qualifying sportsbook bet must be £10 or more at odds of 2.00 or greater and settle within seven days of registration.[3]

The £50 reward divides into £30 for sportsbook markets and £20 for Bet Builder. Tokens expire seven days after issue and their stakes are not returned with winnings.[3] Cash Out, free-bet stakes, Totepool and virtual sports do not qualify.

Why £50 does not automatically win

The £30 sportsbook component is the easy part to value. The £20 Bet Builder component requires a bet composed from multiple selections in one event. That can be more difficult to hedge precisely at an exchange. Treat the extra £20 as specialist value, not as twenty pounds already in your bank.

The seven-day qualification and reward windows also demand attention. Verify the account promptly, wait for the first bet to settle and record the exact token expiry as soon as the reward appears.

4. BetVictor: football rewards with tight bet-type restrictions

BetVictor's football welcome offer requires a new UK customer to opt in, deposit at least £10 and place a first football bet of £10 or more at odds of 2.00 or greater within seven days.[4] Cash Out, void bets, boosts, starting-price bets, virtuals and bonus-funded bets do not qualify.

The £30 reward is not a normal £30 single-bet token. It consists of a £5 football Acca free bet, a £5 Bet Builder free bet and a £5 Lucky Dip free bet after settlement, followed by a £10 football Acca token and another £5 Bet Builder token within 24 hours.[4] The Acca needs at least two selections, the Bet Builder needs at least three, and the tokens require accumulated odds of 2.00 or greater. They expire after seven days.

Who might still use it

An experienced user who understands sequential laying or dutching may be able to extract value. A beginner seeking a simple back-and-lay free bet should start elsewhere. The restriction is the point, not an inconvenience to be wished away.

There are no wagering requirements on the sports rewards, according to the current page, but the free-bet stake is excluded from returns. Read each token's live detail before placing it.

William Hill: not suitable for matched betting

William Hill's R30 offer looks convenient in isolation. It requires a new UK customer to register with code R30, deposit at least £10 and place a £10 single sports bet at odds of 1.50 or greater. After settlement it supplies three £10 free bets, each expiring after seven days.[5]

However, its current general promotion terms identify “minimal-risk wagering patterns” as unfair and explain this as a set pattern that unfairly minimises risk or uses opposite betting.[5] That language reaches the central back-and-lay mechanism of matched betting.

Matched Betting Beast decision: exclude it

Do not use this welcome offer for matched betting while that wording applies. A pleasing headline cannot override the operator's terms.

This is also why lists assembled from reward amounts alone are unreliable. Suitability comes before theoretical conversion. Reopen William Hill's terms if considering the offer for any other purpose, because promotions and restrictions can change.

A sensible process before using any offer

  1. Check that matched betting is permitted. Search the promotion and general terms for opposite betting, minimal-risk patterns, hedging, arbitrage and promotion abuse. Stop if the language conflicts with the method.
  2. Confirm eligibility. Verify age, location, previous-account, household, payment-method and identity rules before depositing.
  3. Save the live terms. Record the offer code, qualifying stake, minimum odds, deadline, excluded bets, reward format and expiry.
  4. Check the first-bet rule. Several offers use only the first valid bet. A small accidental wager can consume the opportunity.
  5. Find both prices before placing either bet. Confirm market wording and exchange liquidity. Recalculate if either price moves.
  6. Avoid Cash Out and excluded enhancements. Cash Out, boosts, virtual markets and bonus funds are common exclusions.
  7. Record the reward immediately. Note the expiry of each token and whether its stake is returned.
  8. Measure settled profit. Subtract qualifying losses and exchange commission rather than treating promotional face value as cash.

BEGINNER QUESTIONS

Sign-up offer FAQs

Which welcome offer is best for matched betting today?

Of the offers whose full terms Matched Betting Beast verified on 12 September 2026, Sky Bet ranks first because it asks for a £5 deposit and a qualifying first bet of only 5p, then issues three £10 free bets with 30-day expiry.

Is Betfred's £50 reward worth more than Sky Bet's £30?

Potentially, but not pound for pound. Betfred restricts £20 to Bet Builder and gives seven days to use the tokens. Sky Bet's three £10 tokens work on ordinary single or each-way markets and last 30 days.

Why is William Hill excluded?

Its current promotion terms classify minimal-risk wagering patterns and opposite betting as unfair. Those words conflict with the method this article discusses.

Does a £30 free bet mean £30 profit?

No. A stake-not-returned token does not return its £30 stake. In the calculator example above, a strong odds match converts the token into about £23.15 before considering any qualifying loss.

Will these offers still be available tomorrow?

They may change or disappear. Check the current terms on the operator's own site before registering, depositing and placing the qualifying bet.
