Outplayed is useful, but it is not the only way to learn matched betting. You can begin with free guides and a calculator, use a cheaper trial while you compare services, or pay for a platform that puts offer instructions, odds comparison and records in one place.
The right Outplayed alternative depends on which bit of the job you want someone else to do. If you only need the maths, paying for a large toolkit is wasteful. If you want current offers found, checked and explained every day, a collection of free articles will leave you doing that work yourself.
This comparison covers the live choices I could verify on 20 September 2026. Prices and access can change, so check the payment screen before entering card details. One former alternative, Bonus Accumulator, now says it has not been updated since 1 May 2024, so I would not use it as a current offer feed.[15]
Do you need to pay for matched-betting software?
No. You need a correct back-and-lay calculation, current promotion terms, accurate odds and enough betting capital to fund the bookmaker stake and exchange liability. None of those facts requires a subscription in principle.
The free route works best when you are patient and methodical. Read the offer at the bookmaker, write down the qualifying rules, find the corresponding lay market, calculate both outcomes and record the result. Our free Ultimate Calculator handles the stake and liability maths. The free profit tracker keeps balances and settled results separate.
What free tools do not provide automatically is a fresh, ordered list of offers. Nor do they promise that the odds you found five minutes ago are still available. You become the researcher, checker and record keeper. That is perfectly workable for the first few welcome offers. It becomes tiresome when you are scanning reloads across many accounts.
- Bookmaker stakes: cash placed to qualify for each promotion.
- Exchange liability: money reserved to cover the lay bet if the backed selection wins.
- Qualifying losses and commission: small costs that should be calculated before you place anything.
- Your time: checking terms, matching markets and keeping records.
The best free alternatives
Team Profit
Team Profit is the clearest free service in this comparison. Its public site describes itself as a "Free Matched Betting Service" and invites visitors to join free.[1] It has new-starter tutorials, welcome-offer material, reload guides and a calculator. Its calculator page includes normal bets, stake-not-returned and stake-returned free bets, lay commission, partial matching and outcome figures.[3]
There is a catch. Team Profit's public Oddsmatcher page is an Outplayed promotion rather than a separate free oddsmatcher. It says the tool scans bookmaker and exchange prices, then sends the reader to an Outplayed seven-day trial. In other words, Team Profit is a useful free classroom and starting list, but it does not replace every paid Outplayed tool.
Free calculators and guides
If you dislike creating another account, combine independent guides with a calculator. Beating Betting publishes a free lay calculator for normal, SNR and SR bets, including liability and outcome profit.[10] Matched Betting Beast has a broader free calculator suite for simple back-and-lay bets, each-way offers, dutching and arbitrage.
A calculator only answers the question you give it. Wrong odds, the wrong market or a misunderstood free-bet rule still produces a wrong plan. Always compare the calculator's two outcome columns before placing the lay bet, then confirm the accepted odds in both accounts.
The cheap trial option: Profit Squad
Profit Squad is still mentioned in many lists of cheaper Outplayed alternatives. Its published terms state that a £1 membership gives access for 14 days, although some areas are restricted to other membership levels.[14] The same terms say the £1 trial can be used once.
That makes it cheap to inspect, not automatically cheap to keep. I could not verify a clear current post-trial subscription price on the public membership pages because the public homepage presented a bot-verification screen during this check. The terms confirm the trial access but do not set out a complete current price table.
If you try Profit Squad, treat the checkout as the source of truth. Note the amount, what happens after day 14, the billing interval, the cancellation route and which tools the trial excludes. Take a screenshot before paying. A £1 entrance fee is not a saving if the renewal catches you by surprise or the tool you wanted sits outside the trial.
Profit Squad's own terms also say that it may publish offers involving risk when it considers the value high enough. That matters if you only want conventional sportsbook matched betting. Read the label on each offer rather than assuming every item can be locked to the same result.
Paid Outplayed alternatives compared
The nearest full paid rival is OddsMonkey. Its current public page lists a Starter plan at £39.99 a month or £249.99 a year, with support, signup and weekly offers, alerts and matched-betting tools.[13] It also advertises a free trial. The annual Starter price currently matches Outplayed Platinum's published annual price, so the decision is more about the workflow than a dramatic annual saving.
OddsMonkey says its platform includes an Oddsmatcher, calculators, current offers, tutorials and community support.[13] Those are the same broad jobs a beginner expects Outplayed to cover. Test the details that affect you: which bookmakers and exchanges appear, how quickly odds refresh, whether commission settings are flexible, and whether the instructions make sense without a second guide open.
Outplayed Platinum is £249.99 a year on its public pricing page. It includes signup and sportsbook reload offers, training, support and the core matched-betting tools.[7] Its seven-day trial includes the Oddsmatcher, calculator, sports advanced calculators and training. Starting the trial requires card details and creates a recurring payment, with the first payment due after the trial unless you cancel.[8]
Outplayed's advantage is convenience. Its own description says a team searches for offers and writes the instructions, while the Oddsmatcher compares bookmaker and exchange odds.[9] That removes two repetitive jobs from a beginner's week. The subscription is paying for organised, current work rather than a secret formula.
- Self-built route, £0 service fee: good for a few carefully researched offers, but you find and check everything.
- Team Profit, free membership: lessons, guides and a calculator, although its Oddsmatcher page points to Outplayed.
- Profit Squad, £1 for 14 days: a cheap look inside, with restricted trial areas and no clear public renewal price.
- OddsMonkey Starter, £39.99 monthly or £249.99 yearly: a full paid platform whose live workflow you should test.
- Outplayed Platinum, £249.99 yearly: an organised offer-to-record workflow with a card-backed trial and automatic renewal.
Choose by the work you want removed
Start with the smallest solution. If your problem is lay-stake maths, use a free calculator. If you understand the maths but cannot find suitable odds quickly, trial an oddsmatcher. If you keep missing terms or losing track of open offers, a complete service may be worth more than the fee.
Do not compare platforms by the largest advertised profit figure. Compare one real workflow. Pick an offer for which you are eligible, open its guide, find a match, calculate the stakes, place both sides, record the result and locate help if something looks wrong. Time the process. The platform that makes that chain clear is the better buy for you.
Also inspect the exit before the entrance. Find the cancellation control, renewal date and refund terms during the trial, not the night after it ends. Save the confirmation if you cancel. Our Outplayed cancellation guide covers the current account route and explains why stopping renewal and requesting an eligible refund are separate jobs.
When Outplayed is still the better pick
Outplayed remains my preferred starting point for someone who wants to be led through the whole process. The trial is long enough to complete one sensible offer without rushing, and Platinum puts instructions, odds comparison, calculators and records in the same account. You can judge the service with your own result before choosing an annual plan.
It is not the better pick for everyone. Use free tools if you are completing only a handful of offers and enjoy doing the research. Try Team Profit if you want free lessons before committing. Compare OddsMonkey if you want a similarly complete paid platform. Use Profit Squad's £1 period only after the checkout makes the later billing completely clear.
The sensible answer is not to remain permanently subscribed to everything. Trial one service at a time, keep the one that saves enough work to justify its fee, and cancel the rest before they renew.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Outplayed alternatives FAQs
Can I do matched betting for free?
Yes. Use free guides, a correct calculator and your own records. You still need spare betting capital for bookmaker stakes and exchange liability, and you must find and check each offer yourself.
Is Team Profit really free?
Its public site describes Team Profit as a free matched-betting service and offers free registration.[1] Its guides and calculator can get a beginner moving, but its Oddsmatcher page promotes Outplayed rather than providing a separate full free oddsmatcher.
Is Profit Squad cheaper than Outplayed?
The verified entry price is lower: Profit Squad's terms state £1 for 14 days.[14] That does not prove it is cheaper after the trial. Confirm the renewal price and included access at checkout before paying.
What is the best free oddsmatcher?
I did not find a current free oddsmatcher that matched the full paid tools on refresh speed, market coverage and filters. Free calculators are easy to find. For odds matching, use a paid trial to test the live coverage rather than relying on an old comparison.
Is Bonus Accumulator still an Outplayed alternative?
Not as a current offer feed. Its own site says it has not been updated since 1 May 2024.[15] Old calculators may still load, but stale offer material is a poor basis for placing real bets.
Which paid service should a beginner choose?
Test Outplayed and OddsMonkey separately with the same simple task. Check instructions, oddsmatcher coverage, calculator clarity, support and cancellation. Choose the workflow you can follow accurately, not the one with the loudest earnings claim.
Who can use these services?
Matched betting involves real gambling accounts and is for adults aged 18 and over. Use only spare money, keep enough cash for exchange liability and stop if the process encourages ordinary gambling rather than careful offer conversion.
