Outplayed's tools do four different jobs: find a suitable back-and-lay pair, calculate the stakes, organise specialist offers and record the result. The names can make the dashboard sound busier than it is. Most beginners will spend nearly all their time in the Oddsmatcher, the standard calculator and the Profit Tracker.
The important distinction is simple. A finder presents possible bets. A calculator works out the money. A tracker records what happened. None of them reads a bookmaker's promotion terms for you, and none can confirm that the price on your screen will still be accepted when you click.
I checked Outplayed's public tool, feature, pricing and trial pages on 20 September 2026. Outplayed says its seven-day Platinum trial includes full Oddsmatcher access, the matched-betting calculator and all sports advanced calculators. Starting it requires card details and creates a recurring payment after the trial unless you cancel.[6]
What the Outplayed Oddsmatcher does
The Oddsmatcher compares bookmaker back odds with exchange lay odds. Outplayed says it covers more than 100 bookmakers and exchanges, ranks pairs by their return and updates the displayed prices in real time.[2] That replaces the tedious version of the job: opening a dozen bookmaker tabs, searching for the same event at an exchange and copying prices into a calculator.
For a qualifying bet, you normally want back and lay odds that sit close together. The smaller the gap, the less value usually leaks away while you unlock the reward. For an SNR free bet, the best match may look different because the free-bet stake is not returned. Select the correct mode before judging the percentage column.
The filters are as useful as the headline rating. Set the bookmaker required by the offer, the exchange you use, the correct sport or market and any minimum odds in the terms. Then check available lay money. A lovely-looking price is ornamental if only pennies are waiting to be matched.
The Oddsmatcher can calculate and place a lay through a supported exchange integration, according to Outplayed's product page.[2] I would still treat that as a shortcut rather than permission to stop checking. Confirm the event, selection, market, odds, stake and exchange balance before the back bet, then check the accepted lay rather than the number that was displayed a moment earlier.
A sensible working order is:
- Read the promotion and note the bookmaker, minimum odds, qualifying stake, eligible market and deadline.
- Use the Oddsmatcher filters to find a close pair with enough exchange liquidity.
- Open both destinations and compare the event and market word for word.
- Place the back bet, confirm the accepted price, then calculate and place the lay.
- Check that the lay is fully matched and save the position in your records.
If the bookmaker changes your odds or the lay is only partly matched, stop and recalculate. Do not keep clicking in the hope that the numbers will become polite.
How the matched-betting calculator works
The calculator turns the accepted prices into a lay stake, liability and outcome table. Its main inputs are the back stake, back odds, lay odds and exchange commission. Outplayed's standard calculator supports normal qualifying bets, stake-not-returned free bets and stake-returned free bets.[3]
Choose the wrong mode and the answer can be neatly calculated but useless. A normal qualifying bet includes your original stake in the bookmaker return. An SNR free bet does not. Commission also matters because the exchange takes it from a winning lay result, not from the liability reserved when you place the bet.
Suppose you back £10 at 4.00, can lay at 4.10 and pay 2% exchange commission. The equal-profit calculation gives a lay stake of £9.80 and liability of £30.39 after rounding to pennies. The estimated qualifying loss is about 39p whichever side wins. These figures are an illustration, not live odds. Recalculate with the prices actually accepted by both sites.
Liability deserves attention because it is the cash the exchange reserves if the selection wins. It is not a fee, but it must already be in your exchange balance. A £9.80 lay stake at 4.10 needs much more than £9.80 available. Beginners who remember the back stake and forget the liability tend to discover the difference at the least convenient moment.
The result panel should be read in both directions. Check the bookmaker-wins column and the exchange-wins column. If they differ unexpectedly, revisit the mode, commission and odds. The calculator does not know whether you typed 4.10 while the exchange accepted 4.20.
Advanced calculators
Outplayed says it has more than ten advanced matched-betting calculators, including accumulator, dutching, each-way and early-payout calculators.[4] They are useful because those offers have several moving parts. Each-way bets split into win and place halves. Accumulators may need separate lays as legs settle. Dutching divides stakes across several back outcomes.
Use the calculator attached to the offer guide rather than choosing one by a familiar-sounding name. Read its instructions first. For a free alternative, the Matched Betting Beast Ultimate Calculator covers standard back-and-lay bets, each-way calculations, dutching and arbitrage without an account.
Match Catcher, Each Way Catcher and Extra Place Catcher
These three tools all concern horse racing, but they solve different problems.
- Match Catcher compares horse-racing back and lay prices for refund-style offers. Outplayed describes it as a near-real-time odds checker with race alerts, qualifying-loss filters and saved events.[4]
- Each Way Catcher searches ordinary each-way matches and compares the win and place sides. Its filters include bookmaker, exchange, rating, time and extra-place offers, and it has an integrated calculator.[4]
- Extra Place Catcher focuses on races where the bookmaker pays more places than the exchange. It compares the prices, calculates the required stakes and shows the qualifying loss and possible extra-place return.[4]
The catches are not promises of profit. A low qualifying loss does not guarantee that a horse will land in the useful finishing position. Extra-place results are variable, and a prospective return is not settled cash. Our extra-place guide and each-way calculator explains the win and place halves before you use a specialist finder.
For a beginner, Match Catcher is the easier concept: it finds close horse-racing matches for a named type of offer. Each Way Catcher adds two linked markets. Extra Place Catcher adds a conditional payout gap. Learn them in that order rather than opening all three and hoping the horses provide technical support.
Using the Outplayed Profit Tracker
The Profit Tracker is the ledger for your matched bets and bankroll. Outplayed says it is integrated with its calculator, Oddsmatcher and other tools, so results can be added from the same workflow. Balances and profit records can also be viewed and edited in the account.[4]
That saves duplicate typing, but it does not remove the need to reconcile. A stored estimate may differ from the settled result after an odds change, commission, a void selection or a partial match. Update the entry from the bookmaker and exchange statements once both sides have settled.
Keep three figures separate: cash currently visible in accounts, capital tied up in open bets, and settled profit. Moving £100 from your bank to an exchange does not create a £100 loss. Withdrawing £100 does not create £100 profit. The Matched Betting Beast tracker guide explains the same discipline for anyone who prefers a spreadsheet.
Is there an Outplayed app?
I could not find an official Outplayed matched-betting app in Apple's App Store or Google Play, and Outplayed's current public pages do not link to one. The Google Play result using the Outplayed name is an unrelated esports service, so do not install it expecting the Oddsmatcher.
Outplayed is presented as browser-based software. Its public calculator loaded at phone width during this check, with working input controls and no horizontal page overflow. That was a check of the public calculator, not the account-only dashboard or bookmaker and exchange integrations.
On a phone, keep the sequence deliberate. Open the offer terms first, then the Oddsmatcher, bookmaker, exchange and calculator in separate tabs. Recheck the selection after every tab switch. A narrow screen makes two similar markets easier to confuse, especially win versus place, match odds versus qualification, or today's race versus tomorrow's race.
- Both tabs show the same event, selection and market.
- The back bet is accepted at the odds entered in the calculator.
- The exchange has enough available money at the chosen lay price.
- The liability fits the available exchange balance.
- The lay confirmation says fully matched.
Which Outplayed tools should a beginner use?
Start with the smallest useful set. Use the offer guide for the terms, the Oddsmatcher to find the pair, the standard calculator to check stakes and liability, and the Profit Tracker to record the settled result. Leave the specialist catchers alone until a guide specifically calls for one.
Outplayed's pricing page puts its essential matched-betting tools in Platinum, while the current trial page says the seven-day trial includes the Oddsmatcher and sports calculators.[5][6] A trial is therefore enough to judge the basic workflow. Complete one suitable offer carefully, try the mobile browser if that is how you will work, and decide whether the time saved justifies a paid plan.
TRY THE OUTPLAYED TOOLS FOR SEVEN DAYS
Set a reminder before the seventh day. Card details are required, and Outplayed says the recurring payment begins when the trial ends unless you cancel.[6] Our Outplayed trial guide explains the sign-up and billing points, while the cancellation guide covers the current account route.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Outplayed tools FAQs
Is the Outplayed calculator free?
Outplayed's public calculator page can be opened without a member login. Premium integrations, advanced calculators and offer guides depend on current access and plan terms. Matched Betting Beast also provides a free Ultimate Calculator without registration.
What does the Oddsmatcher percentage mean?
It ranks the expected return from the displayed back-and-lay pair. A higher rating generally means a smaller qualifying loss or better free-bet conversion, but only if you are eligible, choose the right mode and secure the displayed prices.
Does Outplayed place the bets for me?
No. Its Oddsmatcher can support one-click lay placement through compatible exchange integration, but you remain responsible for checking and placing the bets, confirming the accepted prices and ensuring the lay is fully matched.
Does the Outplayed calculator work on mobile?
The public calculator loaded with working inputs at a 390-pixel phone viewport in this check. Member-only tools may have different interfaces, so test the workflow you need during the trial.
Does Outplayed have an iPhone or Android app?
I found no official matched-betting app in either store and no app download link on Outplayed's current public pages. Use the Outplayed website in a browser, and ignore the unrelated esports app using the same name.
Can the Profit Tracker replace my spreadsheet?
It can replace the routine bet log for many members because it connects with Outplayed's tools. You should still reconcile entries against settled bookmaker and exchange statements, and some people will prefer an independent spreadsheet they control.
Who should use matched-betting tools?
They are for adults aged 18 and over who can follow promotion terms, fund both sides from spare money and keep accurate records. The software reduces searching and arithmetic. It does not remove gambling-account checks, mistakes, changing odds or the possibility of losses.
